About Me
Dr. Maryleen Amaizu is a distinguished Machine Learning Engineer, AI specialist, researcher, and educator dedicated to making complex AI concepts accessible worldwide. She earned a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Leicester, where she focused on AI systems for resource-constrained environments, IoT analytics, and privacy-preserving machine learning.
As a founding Machine Learning Engineer at Redgate Software, Maryleen’s work led to the creation of a cutting-edge synthetic data generation tool that integrates machine learning with rule-based systems to produce realistic, privacy-safe test data. This tool was launched in beta at the 2024 PASS Summit, with over 40 sign-ups for the beta program. Since then, she has implemented features that make it easy for customers to set up to improve their testing efficiency, compliance, and software quality.
Among the recent talks are:
2025 SQLBits on “Evaluating the realism of synthetic data” where she was selected among 100 talks from 1200 proposals, highlighting her thought leadership in this emerging field.

Maryleen’s global impact is recognized through two Global Talent Visa awards (UK and Australia) and the prestigious Bupa Every Woman in Technology AI Champion Award 2025. Beyond industry, she has led AI training initiatives across the UK, Africa, and globally, breaking down barriers to AI literacy through education in schools, apprenticeships, skills bootcamps, and corporate programs.
She authored an AI coursebook aligned with the secondary school maths curriculum to support underrepresented students and boost university access. Developed with AccessEd, it was widely distributed across UK schools.
